Yea. I’ve officially lost 3/4 of my wisdom.

I wasn’t planning for this any moment this year. But I have to get it done as a requirement for flying over to Wallaby. Then was suppose to do it at the camp dental centre but the appointment was shifted due to the unavailability of the doctor, and i can’t afford to wait because of work. So might as well do it at the local dental clinic.

The entire surgery cost me 750bucks. But thankfully, it was an immediate deduction from my medisave, so i actually don’t have to pay for anything (one small consolation)

So there i went, for a quick consultation.

Doc: “Now the top one it a quick job; pluck and we’re done. But the top….. Needs a surgery”

Me: “Huh? I was told by the previous doctor (camp) that i won’t have to undergo a surgery”

Doc: “I don’t see how we can extract without a surgery mate (Yea, Asian with an slight Aussie slang since he graduated from UQ). The bottom wisdom tooth only showed 10% of itself to me right now”

Me *with a FML tone*: “Alright, you’re the boss”

So the whole standard procedure started – Local Anesthesia (knn, took him 6 freaking jabs to fully numb my left portion of my mouth. I didn’t cry, I only uncontrollably teared) – OPG X-ray – and the fun starts.

Everything started fine, until the doctor said : “The roots are loose, but they got inter-twined with the bones, so it’s a bit tricky”

WTF was that supposed to mean? You gotta cut my jaw open? Then I immediately feel another jab into my gum. He went ahead and cut the gum deeper towards my jaw.

30mins later, It was out. I opened my eyes. My wisdom tooth was into 4 pieces.

Then I went ahead and close my eyes, this time for the easier procedure – Simple extraction of my top wisdom tooth.

No wait – Another 2 jabs! (Total Count: 9). Then the tooth was out within minutes.

Doc: “Alright Mate, Mission Accomplished. By the way, are you a General in the Army?”

Me (with my retarded left mouth): “No way, I’m only a Captain”

Doc: “No answer” Maybe disappointed about the answer, conceding to the fact that he couldn’t advertise himself as a Dentist that took away some General’s wisdom.

I started rinsing my mouth. I couldn’t control any part of my left mouth, so i could actually see water spilling out from my left mouth like a fountain out of the water sink. I was totally embarrass.

So that’s it. 5 days mc and I don’t think I have the luxury to use them.

I’m starting to feel pain. I’m heading to bed.

Too busy with life – Mostly work; Traveling & Play.

Life was pretty maxed out. So while I have a bit of breathing time back in Rockhampton, Australia. I think I better write something down before life moves back into full throttle mode when I touch down Singapore.

Work was nothing short of enriching – Attended 2 courses; gone thru countless sleepless nights and finally got myself trained with a new set of skills and knowledge, professionally.

Traveling was AWESOME! 3 times to thailand, once to taiwan and now at Rockhampton; I am actually seriously loving the jet-setting lifestyle!

Thailand trip was especially awesome – doing all things local (made possible if you’re hanging out with a group of locals, of cause)  - Gorging myself with loads of local delicacies, clubbing at local discos, drinking locally loved whiskeys, singing local songs. Can’t wait for the next trip!

So much has happened, only to realized these are just really just the tip of the iceberg – I’m actually really excited about life in the coming few months until the end of the year! Heaps of things to establish with my department, external tasking, 6 weeks of Wallaby; before heading overseas again to Korea, Taiwan, all these to end with my Big 30 Birthday Bash!

All these won’t happen without the strength given by all my awesome friends, loving family, and God. Without them, i won’t be able to pick myself up so quickly, I owe my life, to all of them.

I can’t wait to touch down Singapore! Party’s awaiting me!
