O Hectic Week, It was!

Gosh! What a hectic 11th Jan 2010 ~ 15th Jan 2010!

The week started dark and early at 0400hrs: Wash up, Drank (water) up & headed straight to work with 1 focus in mind – Falcon Coy’s Inf Prof Test.

The prof test started with a turn out at 0530hrs, where everyone loaded with a full battle order, rushed down to the coy line & had the specialist checked on their equipments. Waited for the bus to arrive and brought us to the AO (Area of Operation).

Everything else was typical of an Inf Prof Test.

The whole test went pretty well (At least for me as the Commander of Task Force Frodo – Where i commanded 3 x 84mm RR team + 1 Spare + My medic & runner). TF Frodo travelled at the rear of the company most of the time, but went our own ways when we were near the FUP. I took the mini-unit through an addition 2km route; went through drains (almost got chased by a pack of dogs); cut through banana & pandan plantations, got ourselves thoroughly wet; set up the block force, waited for a good 3 hours without even firing 1 shot. Executed another mission. Again, commanding TF Frodo. And again, waited for another 1.5 hours without firing 1 single shot. Mission Ended. Returned to unit 1 day earlier – for good or bad reason, i don’t know but i was happy, cause i know the test was taking a toll on my aging body.

Embarrass to mention. I suffered quite a few hurts to my body. Sprained my back, feet starting to itch and my body started to develop heat rash. The fucking rash was UNBEARABLE! It was bad to the extend I had to visit my family doctor to beg for an injection to relieve my itch. Doctor suggested relieving the itch with oral and external application of medication because the jab was just not economical to administer (The jab will only relieve the itch for a short while). Respect such doctor! Not out to grab every single cent from desperate patients! (Ok baby, I didn’t really tell you about my rash cause i really didn’t want you to over worry about me after I told you about my back. I’m feelin better now. Really =) )

What followed on along the week was the tremendous amount of supervision prior to the impending unit audit. Getting all logistics & weapons to maximum readiness, in preparation for audit checks.

It wasn’t all bad actually. On the 14th, the unit “lao Jiao” officers conducted an initiation for the newly posted officers. The event started with fast march with individual full battle order; stretcher loaded with a pseudo casualty & a jerry can filled with water, all to be bear by 11 officers. The initiation ended with a night filled with buffet food, beers & vodka watermelons (jointly contributed by Alroy & Myself), and 2 buckets worth of wasted food, wasted beers & vodka watermelon)!

Missus is still on her Moscow – Huston duty. It’s been a good 9 days since I see her. Damn it felt like 9 freaking long years! But somehow her absence for this trip felt better than others – I feel its because i’ve been receiving more texts from her during this trip. Everything single SMS felt love, whether it was in the day when i’m perspiring under the scorching sun, or in 3:53 am when i’m sleeping. I love receiving her messages, makes me feel closer to her when she’s away. I miss Missus so much. 2 more days!

<3,
